Hosting we use and recommend

The servers we actually run on.

No "top 10 hosts" list. These are the two providers we use for our own platform and for client systems, what each one is good at, and when we would send you somewhere else.

Our two picks

Two providers. Real use. Honest notes.

Both are unmanaged: you get the server, and you (or a partner) run it. That's what keeps them affordable.

Our own platform runs here

Hetzner Cloud

German provider · cloud servers you can create, resize and snapshot in minutes

This is what our own platform, our business apps and our customer-facing tools run on. We like it because it gets out of the way: a clean console, sensible prices, and servers that are ready in about a minute.

Best for

  • Business apps and SaaS that grow over time
  • Teams that need test and staging servers on demand
  • Developers who want an API, firewalls and private networks

What we like

  • Hourly billing, capped at the monthly price
  • Snapshots and optional daily backups
  • Firewalls, volumes, load balancers built in

Think twice if

  • Your data must stay in the UAE. There is no Middle East location.
  • You want someone to manage the server for you. It is unmanaged.
  • You are on a tight budget. Hetzner raised prices in 2026, so compare current plans.

Used for heavier, steady workloads

Contabo

German provider · a lot of memory and storage for the money

We have run production ERP systems on Contabo's dedicated-core servers. When a workload is steady and needs plenty of memory and disk, such as a busy ERP database, it is hard to beat on price.

Best for

  • ERP and database servers with steady daily load
  • Apps that store lots of files and attachments
  • Budget-conscious teams that size once and leave it

What we like

  • Generous memory and disk per plan
  • Dedicated-core servers (VDS) for steady performance
  • Data centres across Europe, Asia, the US and Australia

Think twice if

  • You resize servers often. Changes are slower than on Hetzner Cloud, in our experience.
  • You need a UAE location. There isn't one.
  • You skip the small print. Some locations and terms carry extra fees.

Find your fit

Which one suits you?

Three questions. If the honest answer is "neither", we'll say so.

1What are you hosting?

2Who will look after the server?

3Where does the data need to live?

Your fit

Answer three quick questions

We'll tell you which of our two picks fits, or honestly say if neither does.

When we'd send you elsewhere

Sometimes the right answer is neither.

A recommendation is only useful if it can say no.

Your data must stay in the UAE

Neither of our picks has a UAE data centre. Microsoft Azure, AWS and Oracle all run cloud regions in the country. It costs more, but it settles the question. How to decide →

A simple website, no tech person

An unmanaged server is the wrong tool. A reputable managed WordPress or shared host will look after updates and security for you. Shared vs VPS →

Odoo with zero server work

If you never want to think about servers, Odoo's own hosting (Odoo Online or Odoo.sh) may suit you better, as long as its limits on custom code fit your plans.

Questions

Fair questions, straight answers

Anything else? Ask us.

Why only two providers?
Because these are the two we run real systems on. We would rather tell you what we know first-hand than rank twenty hosts we have never used. If neither fits, we say so and point you to something that does.
Do you earn money from these links?
Some links are referral or affiliate links. If you sign up through them, we may earn a commission or account credit, at no extra cost to you. It does not change what we recommend, and we tell you the downsides of each provider on this page.
Is an unmanaged server risky?
Only if nobody looks after it. An unmanaged server needs regular security updates, monitoring and tested backups. If you don't have someone for that, choose a managed option or have a partner run it.
Who owns the server if TBS Group sets it up?
You do. We recommend the provider account is opened in your company's name and paid by your company, so you keep full control even if you change partners.
Can you move our existing website or system?
Yes. We plan the move, copy the data, test everything on the new server, and switch over at a quiet time so your team barely notices.
